In my work, my conceptual approach explores contemporary ideas and ideologies. I use the
medium of paint and a substrate, whether wood or canvas, in my explorations of American life. A more significant work, painted on linen (Truth 2020), is wryly introspective.
Each day in the studio making the painting became a formal and aesthetic investigation into truth - its obfuscation (often hidden in the fog of greed, anger, delusion, ego, and pride) and critical examination of personal observations, ideas, and philosophies. Creating the painting became a study of the nuances of truth and my solace. Is truth the enemy or salvation of self?
